As a cultural coordinator, you will plan, coordinate, and administer cultural programs at our cultural venues together with a knowledgeable team. The work is both administrative, with responsibility for bookings and invoicing, and practical, where you welcome artists and audiences during performances and events.

The assignment

The tasks of the cultural coordinator include:

• Planning upcoming productions and programs together with the workgroup
• Administering bookings
• Administering invoicing
• Some scheduling of extra staff
• Welcoming guest artists and performers at our cultural venues
• Welcoming the audience
• Collaborating with other units within the culture and leisure administration

Challenges and opportunities

As part of the Public Culture in Norrtälje municipality, the unit is responsible for four cultural venues, one of which is an outdoor stage open during the summer. In Norrtälje city, two school auditoriums are rented out to external productions during evenings and weekends, and in Rimbo, the unit operates the Opalen Rimbo cultural venue.

The work is largely administrative and scheduled during the day, but also involves evening and weekend shifts according to a rotating schedule, in connection with receiving and coordinating productions.

What you need to bring

Requirements

• University degree in the cultural field, or other post-secondary education and/or experience deemed equivalent
• Experience coordinating cultural projects or similar assignments previously

You are structured, collaborative, and solution-focused, with a good ability to plan, coordinate, and prioritize your work in collaboration with many different people.

Meritorious

• Education in project management
• Administrative experience in booking productions, artists, and invoicing
• Experience working in the booking system Rbok
